Diary of Being a Writer; Week 94
Happy Holidays Everyone
It’s the most wonderful time of the year, but not for writing.
Or is it?
If I get up early enough and don’t procrastinate by spending too much time looking after the garden and the animals. If I go straight to my desk, there is every chance I could get some writing done each day.
But I will need to get straight to it otherwise the siren call of the holiday season will get me. Well, the rest of the household being on holiday and wanting to go do all the things and have all the fun and create all the mess and all the chaos.
I am not a writer that thrives on noise and distraction. I need solitude and quiet. I don’t even play music.
I can do the cafe writing thing but not if a boisterous table of business people sit right next to me. The background noise is good, but the booming of a business meeting or the intensity of a gossip session can distract.
So far, I have not done well. Some editing and posting but no actual writing.
However, there has been plenty of family time, and fixed obligations are now done.
The trick is not to get too distracted and try and get some writing done in the next few days.
Here goes…
So far not a ton of writing, but some, and a little editing.
I hope your festive season is fun and productive.
