Diary of Being a Writer; Week 100

Work continues to interrupt and distract.

My pond calms me.

My writing week finally starts, and I can only hope that this is a good week. One in which the imposter syndrome goes easy on me. One in which for the rest of the days I have to write I manage not to get distracted by household chores or the household generally. Days in which the words flow and I get on with it, no headaches, no worrying about how to solve the problems at work. No applying for jobs because the difficulty at work can’t be fixed. No distracting myself with non-writing tasks.
Just getting on with it.
To that end, I would like to open my WIP and get cracking, but first, everyone else needs to leave. In half an hour, the conversations, the commotions and the questions will cease, and I will be free to concentrate.

Actually, scrap all that. I just remembered that the first thing I need to do is get some research done on an article I have been commissioned to write. That way at least some of the information is in my head percolating so I can actually start writing it soon.

Well, I did some excellent research and found a lot to read. I read it. Done.
I listened to the latest podcast in my writing course, even though I haven’t caught up with the two previous weeks. Done.
Got stressed about my non-stress job…
