Diary of Being a Writer; Week 106

I was already self-isolating, I guess I will be doing it a bit longer now.

A building in St Kilda I want to be a house and in a different street.

Well, it has been a strange week. I have been sick. That isn’t the strange bit. I catch every cold the kids bring home. Every fortnight, like clockwork, new cold. That is just bloody standard operating procedure for me. The strange bit is that there is a global pandemic. The Covid-19 virus is turning our world upside down. We went from ‘shit, sounds like a bit of a bugger’ to ‘holy crap, we are all going to die” in under a week.
I think part of my anxiety is fuelled by the fact that for the first time ever, I am engaging with Twitter. Yep right now is when I decided to immerse myself in that particular social media platform. Well not me, Agatha. Possibly not the best place to go to calm your fears. What has helped me this week is people like Sophie Hannah, and Amanda Palmer, their responses to this crisis have been uplifting and comforting.

Now that I am feeling better, my plan is to continue what I started on Sunday, which is to read everything I have written so far. I can then continue writing having made sure it all makes sense and that it is moving in the right direction. And fix up some of the glaring errors made on the way.
