Diary of Being a Writer; Week 107

These are weird times.

Another week of the Corona Virus. Another week of confusion and anxiety as we adjust to a new world.
I am researching for an article about sex under quarantine. It is an interesting subject but one that needs to be handled with care; sensible advice but also a lightness of tone.
We don’t need doom and gloom from me right now.
Then when I have finished it, I will hopefully be able to concentrate on my WIP again.
The article is submitted and now the interminable wait while I find out if it is what my editor wanted.
Sometimes I get it right and sometimes I don’t.
I am always super happy when it is what she wants because otherwise I just wasted three days of my life and have to start again. It is always nice to know you did a good job.
Today…I don’t know I guess I should get back to the WIP. I was doing well with the routines, and then this Corona Virus thing just changed everything.
It shouldn’t have changed much for me, but it has. I know I am not alone in finding it hard to concentrate on anything other than this virus and what is happening to our planet.
I will see where the day takes me. Probably, mostly course work.
I will get disciplined and back into it tomorrow.
I may even do some gardening.
I will definitely try not to keep checking social media to see how bad things have got in the last hour.
