Diary of Being a Writer; Week 114

A little positive feedback can go a long way.

Last week I edited the first 1400 words of my WIP thoroughly and 54 pages of it reasonably well.
I need to continue on with that process and write a… dun da dah… synopsis. Yes, the dreaded synopsis, only slightly less terrifying than having to write your own bio. Wish me luck. I am going in.

But I am guessing that first there will be some procrastinating.
There will definitely be some self-doubt.
But I really, really hope at some point there is some fun, interesting writing of a story.

There was much procrastinating. It was a lacklustre day all around.
And then I received a phone call from Benne, and my take away from what she said was that my book so far was compelling and a few other lovely things and that I should get the fuck back on with writing it. She genuinely enjoyed the bit I sent her. I am not saying that I was in desperate need of outside encouragement to get back into it. Still, it is funny how today I actually want to engage with my WIP and want to get back on with writing it.

And as if that wasn’t encouragement enough I received an email this morning from someone I originally sent a tentative email to about possibly…
