Diary of Being a Writer; Week 120
Stop trying to rush something that doesn’t need to be rushed.
So the first draft is finished except for the bits I know need adding/fixing and then the whole editing it all over again.
So start from the beginning and work through? Work on the next segment to send to one of my friends who is reading it? Go straight to the bit that needs adding? Or write up the plan for the next novel?
I know which one sounds more fun.
So I did a bit of both.
I need a coffee, and then I will see where the day takes me. Hopefully like yesterday but more done at the end of it.
So it was another day of noodling about with some editing and some outlining of the next WIP currently called Dawn Too.
It was productive, but like all editing and revising, as opposed to slamming down all the words with the tippy tapping, it just doesn’t feel as satisfying.
Today I may not write at all. I have a voice-over gig this morning, and it is an hour drive away, so that is my morning done. Yes I know there is an afternoon available and yes I have finally shown my self that I can write in the afternoons after all. But I will be out and about which is a rare thing these days so I may do some socialising with my mum and some shopping. Specifically, picking up a Chuck Wendig book on order for me at Harry Hartogs Bookshop. Sounds like a lovely day.
I will revise tomorrow. Thanks to Alina’s…
