Diary of Being a Writer; Week 127.

This is pretty much my process when I am writing an article.

This week is all about research for the article I have been asked to write for Adult Match Maker. This means logging in to my university’s library and searching for scientific papers about orgasms. However, as I am only an alumni member, half of the ones I need, won’t be available. So I will have to go and log in to my other uni’s alumni library. Sometimes I just go with what I can find on Google Scholar. The bonus of using articles that are easier to access means that if anyone is interested, they can look at the papers I did and do their own research. Just because I cite that a paper, that is not the whole story that paper tells. After all, I am reading hundreds of pages and distilling it down into 900 words.

For this article I have actually found a great book called; Becoming Cliterate: Why Orgasm Equality Matters — And How to Get It by Laurie Mintz. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone with an interest in the clitoris.

The other book I highly recommend is Come as You Are: The Surprising New Science that Will Transform Your Sex Life by Emily Nagoski.

Today I will mostly be reading the abstracts and discussions of a bunch of research papers and if they are interesting enough, the methodology and stats.
