Diary of Being A Writer; Week 137

Almost two-thirds of the way done, I think?

Okay so I have thought about my new added scene, and I haven’t come up with anything brilliant. Serviceable, yes. Adequate, yes. Brilliant, no.

I will have to go with what I have got, for now, or I will get stuck here and not keep the editing momentum going. And the clock is ticking. My self imposed deadline of finishing this draft before I start my new job looms ever closer. And with doctors appointments, dentist appointments and social interactions that time is slipping away before my eyes. Well, at least when I am looking at the calendar and filling it in.

Okay, off to write the scene. It doesn’t need to be perfect or brilliant, it just needs to exist.

I wrote the scene, and I like it. It adds to the story. It adds to the atmosphere, all in all, a win. As a bonus, there was some drama going down in my personal life, so I added the person I was being annoyed by to my story. My MC( main character) insulted them, and then they tripped up and hurt themselves. Satisfying.

So I am still only about a third of the way in but things should move faster today.

Okay cracking along at a fair pace and really feeling like I am getting somewhere. It’s been a good day with no interruptions.
