Diary of Being a Writer; Week 139.
I finished it, I finished the draft!
I am so close to finishing this draft now.
It is hard not to get “distracted” and avoid it entirely because it is sort of terrifying.
The other temptation is to rush it and be “done”.
Either way, if I can get this finished, then the next step is writing the synopsis and a query letter.
Then research agents.
Then I guess I send it out to the right agents?
Really?
Do I have to?
I don’t want to.
Except I really do.
Except what if it really isn’t good enough?
Perhaps I should finish it before worrying about that.
I have finished it!
I just printed out a copy. It feels good.
Except there are some typos. You bastards!
Okay, so a quick spell and grammar check of the 86,289 words, in Word. And then I will send copies to my mum and a couple of writer friends.
Tomorrow I will write my synopsis and a draft query.
Next week, research agents.
Then make an excel spreadsheet to document and keep track of…
