Diary of Being a Writer; Week 190.
I completed NaNoWriMo and I am pretty happy about it.
I wrote fifty thousand words in a month. I actually completed a NaNoWriMo. Strictly speaking, I did what is called a ‘Rebel NaNoWriMo’ as I started a second novel halfway through. It isn’t my fault if a story jumped out at me and insisted on being written, is it?
Today feel weird. I have completed NaNoWriMo, and I feel like I deserve a rest, but I don’t want to. I want to keep writing the two stories. I have some editing of my first book to do. And I haven’t queried an agent this week.
I have had two more rejections, though.
I bought myself the Master Class, and I must say that the writing lectures I have watched so far have been excellent. It isn’t like they have said anything that is truly mind-blowing, but there is good solid advice. The main thing I find that listening to them does is inspire me. While listening, I think of things in my books that pertain to what they are talking about. It makes me think about them differently or sparks an idea or the desire to add a detail or remove something redundant.
They may not teach you to write. They do, however, give some great writing tips. Most importantly, they inspire you and remind you why you are here and what the goal is.
