Scrivener, the older version.

This week I have been distracting myself with work and family stuff. When I finally sat down to write, I managed to distract myself some more. I was having doubts about the two books I am writing and thought I should write a romance or a cosy mystery instead. Because why wouldn’t I?
Romance has a strict structure, as do cosy mysteries, so I started looking for outlines. That started me down the rabbit hole of ‘best apps and tools for writers’ as one of the recommended structures came from an app called LivingWriter. They have a few templates in their app, and one of them is called Romancing the Beat. A beat sheet for what is a challenging genre to write in if you don’t know what you are doing. Big tip, I don’t. After investigating once again, I once again realised I had better leave the romance writing to the experts.
I was still interested in the Living Writer App.
I use Google Docs for all my shorter work. I love the safety net of knowing my work is immediately saved and that I can access my work anytime, anywhere, on any device. Sharing with and commenting by others is easy too. For my novels, I use Scrivener. I really like Scrivener. It really is excellent for novel writing and has lots of great features. The corkboard is one of my favourites. But sometimes Scrivener can feel a little unwieldy…
