Diary of Being a Writer; Week 241.

In which I dream of a day that writing is the priority.

So where were we? That’s right, I was moving house. And finishing up my most recent edits and I managed to do both, just.

My mental and physical health have taken a little bit of a beating from it all, but I got through it.

I have even sent Bloody Dawn back to my agent despite wondering what else I can do? Have I worked hard enough? Have I really improved it? Have I made things worse? It becomes a blur. I had a spreadsheet to keep track of what I was doing and I did check off the important changes and then the subsequent flow on changes but I did not add any more funny lines. I wanted to but there just wasn’t a day where the funny came. Changing chaotic to messy and back again, that I did. Finding typos in bits that have been checked over a hundred times by now, that happened. However, it was time to let go of her and send her back.

Now of course my agent is super busy and won’t be able to look at her until the Thanksgiving round of pitching is done. It makes it tempting to do more editing of Dawn. Maybe I will have a funny day after all?

So far I have resisted the temptation to fiddle and I have taken a couple of days off and done some gardening instead. It felt good to have some tangible…
