Diary Of Being a Writer; Week 53
I would love to be able to report that there was more writing or editing this week than there was.
Monday 4th
I made it to the information session about the Copyright Agency Grants, hosted by Guildhouse. It was interesting to find out more about them, what they do and what grants are available. It was disappointing to realise I should have waited until after this session to press submit on my application. It was very disappointing to find out I need to publish about 5 novels before I can apply for a really big grant. More because it really hit home that you can publish five novels in this country and still need a grant to be able to get the time to write your sixth. Anyway the Ignite Grants round for this year closes on the 8th, but there are others up for grabs.

Tuesday 5th March
I finally made it to Adelaide Writers Week.
It was lovely. I bought too many books, and I went to Ginger Gorman’s talk.
Wow, talk about a book really stuffing up your life. An important and fascinating book but I am not sure I would be willing to make the sacrifices she did to bring it to us.
