Lovely notebook for a lefthander, no spiral spine. Oh, and River would like some food.

Monday 18th

I am at my desk but it is not my writing day. So although I think about it, I don’t. My head is full of other things, things to do, to do lists, work. As I type this I am on hold with the bank as I close the account that penalised me $5 a month because there is not enough money going through it. A poor person fee. Rude.

Tuesday 19th March

Okay at the desk, check.

Head in working order, almost, need some coffee.

Morning pages, in a minute.

A personal essay about sleep.

Then another module of the online writing course.

I ended up sending two essays to The Big Issue, at the insistence of Georgia, and I had to send a Bio as well so I didn’t get to the Scribbles module. To be fair Georgia didn’t say I had to send two.

Also at the insistence of Georgia (she is an excellent writing coach/encourager of the scaredy cat), I have had a look at the two fiction competitions open at the moment The Jolley Prize with the Australian Book Review and the Big Issue Fiction edition. I am not sure that I can write a short story. It is something I…
