Monday 25th March
I tried writing a few different things over the weekend for the Adult Match Maker Blog, and then one of them just worked for me. Up until then what I had been writing was awkward and try hard. It had felt like I was some daggy teacher trying to be ‘cool’ with the kids when I blatantly wasn’t. So this morning I went over the one that worked for me. Then I sent it off and waited.
Turns out writing what you know is a good idea. Instead of trying to write what I thought I should be writing, I wrote about what spoke to me, and it was accepted.
Funny that.

Tuesday 26th
Okay, so blog article sorted now to write a brilliant short story.
Oh, and morning pages are done. Both today and yesterday. And both today and yesterday they gave me clarity and direction as well as allowing me to write drivel about my garden and how much I love my garden and the view out of my study window.
I read the pieces by the previous winners of the short story competition. It was disheartening. I don’t write like that. They have delicate, detailed descriptions. Their stories are evocative first-person accounts of a journey into the past that changes their perception or is moving and/or painful. I write in bold strokes and with comedic intent. Oh well, I…
