Diary OF Being A Writer; Week 61
This week I sent out my first draft to my gorgeous beta readers.
Monday 29th April
I am home alone! I only have a couple of hours, so I better make this count.
One ‘Scribbles’ exercise and then some editing.
Sounds like a reasonable plan. There will be no ‘researching’ or getting distracted.
This is when I should turn off social media and the internet and turn on the 25-minute timer Pomodoro style. In fact, I may just do that.

I got the writing exercise done, and it was productive and possibly the start of something, but then my plan went off the rails.
For the love of cats! Just open Scrivener and edit!
Wow. That was harder than it should have been. A while ago I was lazy and copy and pasted something across into my memoir and editing it took longer than writing the piece from scratch. I think.
Anyway, I got there in the end.
I find myself fighting a desire to rush through, to merely scan the words for obvious mistakes rather than face having to read my words carefully. I just want to skip over that part. Especially the embarrassing or…
