Not a Newsletter, Nor an Email List.

I want to be happy.

I read some of the advice on here about how to be a successful writer.

Okay, I read a lot of the advice about being a writer on here.

And can I just say I DO NOT WANT an email list?!?!

I do not want to write a newsletter each month that points you to my work and tries to sell you some course.
I am not criticising those who do. I subscribe to a few people’s newsletters. I admit I only open two with any regularity but that’s because I like the writers and they make me smile; Kyrie Gray and Chuck Wendig.

The serious ones, from August Birch and Whatsherface Memoir Lady, etc. I never open. They are going to tell me how to write better, how to grow my audience and how to buy their next course that is, just for now, discounted for those of us who subscribe to their email list.
I don’t want to know.
I know I should want to know how to grow my audience and that when my book is published, I should already have a list of people who like me enough to buy my book. And then I should push that book to them. But I don’t want to do that right now.
I want to tell my story. I want to spend time crafting that story. Then I want to spend time getting that story published and then hopefully I will get to tell another story. I am doing this…
